Should a player accumulate a third yellow card within a single season, they would have the chance to have this card expunged if they participate in five consecutive matches without incurring any further disciplinary action or yellow cards. Currently, in the MLS regular season, this athlete has two more instances to qualify for the "good conduct bonus." Should this player remain untouched by either red or yellow cards, and avoid any additional penalties, in the subsequent five matches, their total yellow card tally would decrease by one more. At that point, they would hold only one yellow card and have their final opportunity for the good conduct reward.
